What’s New with the ACNV
11/17/2004

Much has happened in the last few months with the Arts Council of Napa Valley since NewLevel Group was engaged to strengthen their board, refine their message, build public awareness, and increase funding. Two new Board members, Gail Silverman and Celia Lenson, have joined the dedicated Board to work with Interim Executive Director, Michelle Williams. A new website has been launched thanks to the design talent of Kristine Cummins and the generous donation of Net Flow. Award-winning local graphic artist, Julia Allen, has created a sophisticated logo that reflects the organization's new mission statement. And, last but not least, ACNV has recently been awarded grants from two local organizations. The Sato Foundation, based in Napa, will fund the Arts in Education program in Napa County schools. The Heritage Fund, based in St. Helena, is funding and collaborating with ACNV to create the Professional Artist Workshop (PAW) series. The PAW series is a new program designed to give working artists the tools they need to become more successful and profitable through their art.

“Encouraging office users to be green is a new area that the County is exploring. NewLevel Group stepped forward to be the first of what we hope will be many more businesses going green,” said Steve Lederer, Director of the Department of Environmental Management for Napa County. Previously, the department had focused on certifying auto repair shops as green businesses and is currently working with the Napa Valley Vintners Association on a Green Winery Program.
